MichelinWe are pleased to confirm that long-term sponsor of British Supermoto racing –Michelin, are again providing very needed and valuable support for the 2013 championship. They will be giving various awards for the solo classes at all the meetings in this years calendar, and possibly more importantly putting their resources behind publicising the sport to a wider audience.
TV CoverageThanks to the very generous support of new sponsor WANTTOLIVEAFLOAT.COM we have been able to engage Real to Reel to film this years races, both two & four wheel. The action will be shown on the excellent Motors TV channel and there is the possibility that other stations will broadcast it as well. This is fantastic news for ALL competitors in these difficult economic times, as it is a positive message to give to your own individual sponsors & supporters. Take a look at www.wanttoliveafloat.com to see what our new sponsor is all about.
New Race Director.Due to increased pressure at work Paul Simmonds is reluctantly stepping down as Race Director. He wishes you all the very best for 2013 and will try to keep in touch with the action. We are pleased to announce that ACU liaison officer David Dearden will replace him. Many of you will be aware of David from his past involvement in Supermoto both as a sponsor, team owner, organiser & Team GB manager. David is keen to ensure we have a tight race day schedule that maximises track time for all classes, which we are sure will be welcomed by all. If you have any ideas or questions David will be keen to hear from you via email at djdearden@btconnect.com.
New scoring system. For 2013 we will be awarding the first 3 place awards to the highest 3 aggregate points scorers for the days races. This will replace our past system of only counting the final race of the day. We have made this change as a result of feedback we have received from you the riders and brings us into line with all the other European Supermoto Championships.
2012 AwardsWe still have some awards from the 2012 overall championships & the Masters Cup. We are keen that these are collected at 3 Sisters on Easter Sunday to avoid possible damage.
More news to follow over the next few days so keep an eye on the website
Lets get it onnnnnnnnn!!

Please take a look at the one page document from the ACU on the link below which explains the new online procedure for licence renewals and new applications (reminder for new members that a Norasport and ACU licence are required to compete in the British Supermoto Championship)
The main point which is only mentioned briefly near the bottom of the page is that you need to join your ACU club (ie Norasport) first before you apply for your ACU licence, hence please get your Nora form off to Roger as said below and then he will issue you a unique code which you must have to apply for your 2013 ACU licence online (or by post if you need to).
